    Provision of a Zebra Crossing on Doncaster Road, Branton<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \nThe Parish Council are delighted that the long awaited zebra crossing is now in place.  It is hoped the crossing will make the road much safer for everyone to cross.  The parish council would like to thank everyone who has played a part in securing the crossing, a fine example of team work.<\/p>\n

    Christmas Carol Singing<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Thank you to all the residents who attended and everyone who supported the very enjoyable Christmas Carol Singing event at Kilham Hall on Wednesday 14 December 2016.  The proceeds of the raffle were again donated to the Harry Matthews Bowel Transplant Fund.<\/p>\n

    New Outdoor Equipment at Kilham Lane Recreation Ground<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A consultation event was held on Saturday 28 January 2017 to outline proposals for a new range of outdoor equipment which includes a cable ride (zip wire), basket swing, a table tennis table, climbing wall and a range of gym apparatus (and as further funding becomes available a Multi Use Games area. Over thirty residents attended and there was overwhelming support for the proposal.
    \nThere were lots of good ideas and requests for additional equipment and these will be considered once current proposals have been finalised.  The parish council will work with DMBC to progress the plans and it is aimed to complete the first phase of the project by the 2017 school summer holiday period.  The parish council would like to thank everyone who attended the consultation event and provided feedback.<\/p>\n

    2017 Annual Parish Meeting on Wednesday 1 March 2017 at 7.00pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

    To find out more about the exciting initiatives taking place in the parish any elector can attend the meeting to raise any matters for consideration by the parish council.  The March parish council meeting will follow the Parish Meeting.<\/p>\n

    2017\/18 Precept \u2013 Annual Review from 1 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

    After careful consideration the parish council determined that the 2017\/18 precept should not be increased significantly and therefore the average increase (for a Band \u2018D\u2019 property) will be 0.04% giving annual rise of \u00a30.01. The total revenue raised will be \u00a332,600 due to an increase in the number of properties paying the precept.<\/p>\n

    \u2018Searching for Star\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Many residents will be aware that Star (a young Alsatian) went missing recently and was found after six nights and reunited with her worried owners, fortunately no worse for her ordeal. Many people joined in the search for her demonstrating the wonderful community spirit that exists in the parish and surrounding area.  It is heart warming to know that people are willing to help their neighbours during difficult times. Well done to all those involved.<\/p>\n
