    Christmas Carol Singing<\/strong><\/p>\n

    This will take place on Wednesday 13 December 2017 at 6.30 p.m. at Kilham Hall, Kilham Lane, Branton DN3 3PF with musical accompaniment from a local organist and Branton St Wilfrid\u2019s School choir.  Father Andrew will also be in attendance.  Festive refreshments provided by the local WI and soft drinks for children will be available at a small charge.  As in previous years arrangements have been made for festive lighting to be displayed on the Christmas tree on the corner of Glen Road and Doncaster Road.<\/p>\n

    New Outdoor Equipment and Perimeter Path at Kilham Lane Recreation Ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The contractors appointed by DMBC are nearing completion of the new outdoor equipment and perimeter path.  The field area has also be re-seeded to provide for an improved surface for the
    \nplaying of informal games in 2018.  It is hoped that both adults and children will make use of and enjoy these new facilities.<\/p>\n

    Provision of a Defibrillator at Kilham Lane Recreation Ground.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The parish council and Kilham Hall have jointly funded the cost of a defibrillator which is available for use at all times.  Access is obtained by ringing the emergency services who will issue a code
    \nfor the keypad lock.<\/p>\n

    New Fencing to Grass Verges at Valley Drive and Rural Crescent.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    New fencing to the grass verges opposite the school on Valley Drive and at the junction of Valley Drive with Rural Crescent has been purchased by the parish council to deter parking in these
    \narea in order to improve safety for children when travelling to and from school.<\/p>\n

    Provision of a Wreath and Donation to the Royal British Legion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A poppy wreath has again been purchased by the parish council for the local school use and made a donation to the Royal British Legion to mark remembrance day.<\/p>\n

    Walk to School Initiative<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The \u2018Walk to School\u2019 challenge organised by Branton St Wilfrid\u2019s School with support from the parish council and the school PTA has now commenced and has led to much reduced parking
    \naround the school at the beginning and end of the school day making the area much safer for everyone.  Each class records how each child travels to and from school (walking, cycling,
    \nscooter or park and stride), the class with the most positive journeys will be awarded \u00a3100 each half-term towards an item of outdoor play equipment for the school playground and pupils will
    \nreceive monthly badges.<\/p>\n

    Special thanks are extended to the Three Horse Shoes, Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Branton Farm Nurseries who have allowed parents to park a short walk away from the school in order to
    \nrelieve the congestion.<\/p>\n

    New Public Space Protection Order.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    DMBC has introduced an order to place restrictions on the control of dogs on public land.  Notices have been placed to identify where dogs must be on leads or where they are not permitted for example no dogs are allowed on Kilham Lane recreation ground as this is an enclosed area for recreation purposes.  Fixed penalty fines will continue to be issued to any dog owner who allows a dog to foul the highway and does not dispose of it appropriately.<\/p>\n
